Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City is a waterfront development encompassing an area of 6.4 million square meters. At build-out over an estimated 25-year development period, the mega project could include as many as 100,000 residents.
The project is situated about 75 kilometers south of Kuwait City.
The engineering of the massive project includes six 10-ton tidally-powered gates (operational since April, 2011) that work to flush the project’s inland lagoons each day, sustaining inland habitats.
The project was previously known as Al-Khiran Pearl City. It is located on lands reclaimed from former salt bogs, known locally as Al Sabkha.
Sabah Al-Ahmad Sea City is a project of La’ala Al-Kuwait Real Estate Company.
