Demolition, a loan package, and other mobilization is underway for One Vanderbilt, a supertall skyscraper slated for Manhattan.
The USD $3.1 billion ‘One Vanderbilt‘ project will rise 58 floors, and include an estimated 1.6 million SF. The structure will rise to just over 1,400 feet, taller than the nearby Chrysler Building.
The project will be located next to Grand Central Station, on the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in midtown Manhattan.
Groundbreaking is expected for Fall, 2016. The project was approved by City Council in June, 2015.
One Vanderbilt is a project of SL Green Realty Corp, a real estate investment trust. According to the firm’s website, as of March 31, 2016, the SL Green held interests in 152 Manhattan buildings totaling 52.6 million SF. The building is being designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox.
