Drexel University Envisions ‘Schuylkill Yards’

Drexel University in association with developer Brandywine Realty Trust, have announced ‘Schuylkill Yards,’ a plan to transform properties between its campus and the City’s 30th Street Station into a high-density, mixed-used district of educational, medical, and research institutions.

The development is envisioned to eventually include about eight million SF of mixed-use real estate.

Under the business arrangement, the university provides Brandywine with a long-term lease for the subject properties, while retaining a first right of refusal and favorable lease terms, for space developed within Schuylkill Yards.

Brandywine Realty Trust, the developer, is a U.S. real estate investment trust, led by founder and current CEO, Jerry Sweeney.
