StoneCreek Partners in Venture to Form Group Denali SCP

StoneCreek Partners has joined with industry veteran Baxter Slaton, to form Group Denali SCP (“Group Denali”) property services company to provide full-service due diligence support for real estate acquisitions and commercial loan underwriting, among other related services.

 

Some of Group Denali’s detail property support services will include property inspections, rent roll review and lease abstracting, common area budgeting, and project management of capital improvement programs.    As part of forming this venture, Group Denali will take over the practice area within StoneCreek Partners that has provided such services.

 

Baxter Slaton helms the new company as managing partner.  Slaton has been associated with StoneCreek Partners for more than five years, responsible for business development and project services in the U.S. and select global regions including Sub-Saharan Africa.    Some of his work for StoneCreek Partners will continue through Group Denali.  Prior to his association with StoneCreek Partners, Slaton was an executive  with Silverbird Properties (Nigeria) and before that a commercial finance broker active in Southern California.

 

Group Denali is majority-owned by Baxter Slaton, and will soon complete certification as a minority-owned enterprise (MBE).

 

StoneCreek Partners Extends China Alliance

StoneCreek Partners announced today the appointment of real estate industry veteran Anthony Ching to lead StoneCreek Partners ACCG, a strategic alliance for the provision of services to clients in mainland China and Hong Kong.  The alliance’s name follows the predecessor name of StoneCreek PSI although the principals involved have not changed.

StoneCreek Partners ACCG  will continue to provide the same owner representation, feasibility, leasing, and development services, as the firm provides to clients in other regions.

Anthony Ching is a media and marketing expert with a long experience in real estate, hospitality, and retail projects.    Mr. Ching is a graduate of the Business School at The University of Western Ontario.    He will continue to manage the alliance offices in Beijing and Shanghai.   Prior to forming the StoneCreek ACCG alliance and his own firm, he has served in a variety of capacities as a senior executive with such companies as Grey Advertising where he directed the agency’s China client portfolio.

Baxter Slaton is a U.S. expatriate with a long experience in real estate, hospitality, and retail projects.    Slaton is a graduate of the University of Southern California (“USC”).   He is based on Lagos, Nigeria.   He has served in a variety of capacities as a senior executive with such companies as Silverbird Group, where he has directed the mall group, human resources, and corporate affairs – all in Nigeria.

Queen Mary Lease Buy-Out

Acquisitions Due Diligence.   The Port of Long Beach was interested in proposing a buyout of existing master leases controlled by Special Restaurant Corporation, for the purpose of the Port’s acquisition of these master leases and subsequent reconveyance to a new master lessee.

The Port was ultimately successfully in terminating SRC’s master lease and reletting the Queen Mary and ancillary assets to Wrather Port Properties Ltd., a subsidiary of Wrather Corporation, through a a 66-year master lease.

The history of RSM Queen Mary Ship dates to its construction and fitting prior to being officially handed over from John Brown Shipyard to Cunard White Star Line on May 12, 1936. In late 1967, the ship was removed from the British Registry and turned over to the City of Long Beach.
